Greenawn Smart Manufacturing Base Reaches Major Milestone with Phase I Structure Completion
On September 28, 2026, the main structure of Phase I of the Greenawn Global Shading Technology Smart Manufacturing Base in Zhaoqing, China, was officially completed.
The milestone comes just over nine months after construction began on December 13, 2025. With the main structure now in place, the project has entered its next stage of development, marking significant progress in Greenawn’s continued investment in advanced manufacturing, product development, and sustainable building technologies.
The next phase will include façade construction, mechanical and electrical installation, equipment installation, and interior development in preparation for future operation.
A New Smart Manufacturing Base Takes Shape
The Greenawn Global Shading Technology Smart Manufacturing Base represents an important step in the company’s long-term manufacturing strategy.
The overall project is planned with a total investment of approximately RMB 500 million and a total building area of more than 60,000 square meters.
Phase I alone represents a planned investment of approximately RMB 230 million, covering more than 21,000 square meters. Once completed, the facility will integrate multiple functions, including advanced manufacturing, technology R&D, product display, industry communication, and smart warehousing.
Rather than serving solely as a production facility, the new base is being developed as an integrated platform supporting Greenawn’s future manufacturing and innovation capabilities.
Building a Smarter and Greener Manufacturing Environment
From the planning stage, the project has been developed around five key principles: intelligence, energy efficiency, ecology, human-centered design, and functional simplicity.
Smart systems are planned to improve coordination between production processes and the building environment, while photovoltaic integration and passive building design will support the exploration of lower-energy industrial operations.
The facility also incorporates environmental considerations into its spatial planning, with an emphasis on reducing unnecessary materials and improving long-term resource efficiency.
Through these approaches, Greenawn aims to create a manufacturing environment that brings together production efficiency, technology development, sustainability, and practical industrial design.
From Product Manufacturing to Integrated Shading Solutions
The development of the new manufacturing base reflects broader changes in the global outdoor shading market.
For distributors, brands, contractors, and project partners, sourcing requirements increasingly extend beyond individual products. Customers may also require customized product development, engineering support, manufacturing flexibility, and solutions adapted to different markets and applications.
The new facility is expected to further strengthen Greenawn’s capabilities across R&D, manufacturing, product testing, supply chain coordination, and customer support.
Greenawn will continue to develop products and technologies related to aluminum pergolas, intelligent shading systems, outdoor structures, and building-integrated shading solutions, while improving the connection between product design, manufacturing, and real-world applications.
Supporting the Future of Low-Carbon Shading and Green Buildings
The smart manufacturing base is also intended to create new opportunities for cooperation across the shading and green building industries.
Greenawn plans to work more closely with partners in shading materials, intelligent control systems, architectural design, and related technologies, exploring further applications in areas such as building-integrated shading, smart outdoor shading systems, and low-carbon building solutions.
By bringing together manufacturing, R&D, product demonstration, and industry exchange, the facility is expected to become an important platform for introducing new technologies, processes, and materials into Greenawn’s product development.
A New Stage for Greenawn Manufacturing
Completion of the Phase I main structure is an important milestone, but it is only one stage of the project.
As construction continues, the Greenawn Global Shading Technology Smart Manufacturing Base is moving steadily from concept to operation.
Once completed, the facility will support more efficient manufacturing, deeper product development, and closer cooperation with customers and industry partners worldwide.
From outdoor shading manufacturing to smarter and more sustainable building solutions, Greenawn continues to invest in the capabilities needed for the future of the global outdoor living industry.
