“YUEMEI Awning”CEO FANG GUIPING always focused on product materials and user experience, recognized that the future of the industry lay in lightweight and high-strength materials. While sourcing imported fabrics from Hong Kong, he also pioneered the introduction of aluminum retractable arm awning technology from Macau, replacing the traditional iron arm methods. This forward-thinking approach accelerated the development of the entire outdoor shading industry.
Fang Guiping integrated brand thinking into corporate development with a long-term strategic vision, formally establishing “Guangzhou Greenawn Outdoor Products Co., Ltd.” and launching the industry’s first brand focused on outdoor sunshades: “Greenawn.” The brand embodies the beautiful concept of “grid-by-grid awnings, green and environmentally friendly energy-saving products, and cheerful laughter under the awnings.” For decades, Greenawn has consistently upheld the mission of “bringing joy to the public under the awnings.” Under Fang Guiping’s leadership, we are rooted in China, with a global perspective, and have officially entered the international market.
The excellent performance of European-style window awnings and curved arm awnings, such as the GR-310, GR-320, GR-660, and GR-930 (canopy awning), led to their global popularity, with annual sales exceeding 10,000 units. This outstanding sales performance and diverse product lineup laid a solid foundation for the brand’s future overseas expansion and large-scale production.
Between 2012 and 2013, during his inspection tour in Europe, Fang Guiping was inspired by many world-class awning brands. He quickly recognized the importance of brand image and scale. At a time when domestic sunshade product sales were still largely operated by small shops, he demonstrated extraordinary vision and decisiveness by rapidly establishing the “awning” brand operation system and fully implementing CIS brand construction. The first branded store in the domestic outdoor sunshade industry was officially opened in Guangzhou, and during the same period, numerous dealerships were launched nationwide. This initiative led the Chinese sunshade industry on the path to brand building.
In 2014, Greenawn integrated sunshade products with cultural elements, gathering a large team of innovative talents to explore new cultural formats in the film industry. Under the personal guidance of Fang Guiping, the Greenawn team collaborated with Feng Xiaogang’s team over two years, collecting extensive historical documents on Nanyang architecture and producing awnings that evoked a sense of historical authenticity for Feng Xiaogang’s film productions. As the first outdoor sunshade company in China to participate in the construction of film culture, Greenawn provided a new creative engine for the film industry, making a significant contribution to driving high-quality development in the cultural sector.
In 2015, Fang Guiping received recognition from both the industry and the nation for his entrepreneurial spirit of leading trends and embracing innovation. As a member of a delegation of outstanding entrepreneurs, he accompanied President Xi Jinping on visits to Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, and other countries. Greenawn, prioritizing national interests, played a key role in accelerating the integration of China’s Belt and Road Initiative.
In 2016, Greenawn actively expanded its business, relocating and upgrading its factory. Fang Guiping consistently maintained a daring spirit, continuously expanding the enterprise’s scale amidst fierce market competition. He introduced advanced equipment and production lines from abroad, driving ongoing innovation in the traditional outdoor sunshade industry.
In 2017, driven by a vision to change the world, Fang Guiping established a Sino-European joint venture, bringing advanced European pergola production technology and machinery to China, making it the first company in the country to do so. That same year, the company developed and launched a new generation of easy-to-install pergolas, achieving standardized mass production.
In 2019, Greenawn once again predicted industry trends and launched a revolutionary product – photovoltaic solar eco-pergola, becoming the world’s first product to successfully integrate photovoltaic solar technology into outdoor shading products. Its continuous innovation has won wide acclaim from global experts and once again led the outdoor shading industry to new heights.
In 2020, Greenawn’s annual performance broke through the 100 million-yuan mark.
In 2021, subsidiary companies were established in Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Chengdu to expand the domestic market.
In 2022, Greenawn’s new office building was completed, becoming the industry’s first to feature a garden-style experiential showcase.
Between 2022 and 2023, Greenawn’s production base in Dawang District, Zhaoqing City, was officially completed and put into operation. The factory is dedicated to the research, development, and production of PERGOLAS products, equipped with industry-leading production lines and imported machinery, enabling high-quality, efficient production. Covering an area of over 50,000 square meters, the production base has an annual capacity of over 100,000 units, making it the largest PERGOLAS research and production facility in China.
